“When I first started shooting photos in middle school, I was obsessed with colored lights.  Once I transitioned into shooting fashion more professionally in 2009, I would create lightscapes to complement my muses, and sometimes I would light paint while I shot them.  This series, Lucky Starz is an ode to my early work, and has been in my queue since I met Sharmeen early this year.  She’s the kind of girl who oozes chic vibes.  Her voice, mannerisms, and style are all a reflection of the effortless cool factor she emits.

Without muses like her, my work would not exist. It is my infatuation with people that inspires me to shoot them.  It’s all about capturing the person that they are, at the time of the shoot.  I meditated on this vision, and within my daydreams, I envisioned Sharmeen’s persona accessorized with city lights.  The final result is a girl in her element—a girl who knows who she is, and who she isn’t.”
